Hear Further TOR 1st, Telangana Urges Brijesh Kumar Tribunal

HINTING at delaying tactics by Andhra Pradesh, Telangana on Friday urged the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal to first hear the "further terms of reference" given by the Union government first and then proceed with the reference under Section 89 of AP Reorganisation Act if the Tribunal could not hear both cases simultaneously.

Telangana on Friday filed an Interlocutory Application as a rejoinder to the reply submitted by Andhra Pradesh before the Tribunal.

"It is humbly submitted that the 'Further Terms of Reference' are issued under Section 3 of the Interstate River Water Disputes Act to resolve the water dispute between the two states. Section 89, which is part of the AP Reorganisation Act, is intended to only result in determining project-specific allocation. The project-specific allocation can be made only after the allocation of water between the states is determined," the IA filed by Telangana said.
