DISTRICT Mahila Morcha activists took out a procession from the party office to Azad Park in Chikkamagaluru where they held a protest against state government's alleged apathy in taking strict measures in controlling the series of lactating mothers and babies deaths in the state.
The procession was led by the district Morcha president Jacintha Anilkumar and vice-president Savita Ramesh and the protesters shouted slogans against the government along the procession route. Addressing the members, Jacintha said, the government has failed to trace real reasons for the deaths and prevent them, and urged to conduct a probe by a High Court judge.
Two departments of the state government are very disorganized in distributing 'Matru Vandana' money to the designated women. Management and maintenance of Primary Health Centres in the state is truly pathetic.
