The ritual took place in the presence of the 'panchamurthis' near the 'Chit Sabha', where the deity of Lord Nataraja, accompanied by Sivakamasundari, is enshrined.

Temple priest SK Sivaraj Dikshitar hoisted the Rishaba flag. This was followed by rituals invoking the deity's representative, Hastaraja. The festival will feature the 'panchamurthi' street procession for the next 10 days. Key events include the car festival on January 12, followed by the Ekakala Laksharchana on the same night in Aayirangal Mandapam.
