The order to suspend the DIG, former additional superintendent of Vellore prison A Abdul Rahman and jailer Arul Kumar was issued on Tuesday night. The order said DIG R Rajalakshmi was placed under suspension under Rule 17(e) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1955, to ensure a fair investigation in the FIR filed by the CB-CID. The CB-CID had filed the FIR based on the order of the Madras High Court.
