In a particularly bizarre case, the wife of a terminally ill neurology patient fell victim to the advances of a depraved private ambulance driver. He sexually harassed her while transporting her husband to their native home in Siddharthnagar, eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The driver discarded the patient from the ambulance after forcibly removing his oxygen mask, leading to the patient's death. Together with an accomplice, the driver also looted ₹10,000 and the woman's jewellery. According to the FIR filed based on the victim's complaint in Lucknow, she had hired the ambulance from the Ghazipur (Indiranagar) police station area in Lucknow. Her husband had been admitted to a private hospital on Aravali Marg in Indiranagar on August 28, and she needed to take him to their home district of Siddharthnagar.
