The two countries exchanged a memorandum of unders tanding (MoU) on the energy sector. Widodo witnessed the signing of the document and acknowledged the support of the Philippines towards Indonesia’s chairmanship of Association of SouthEast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2023.
The two presidents also delivered a joint statement, affi rming their commitment to enhancing mutual and concrete cooperation in various industries. This also marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the Philippines.
Widodo highlighted an agreement centering on defense cooperation, focusing on the strengthening of border cooperation.
