Six-time MLA and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has been unanimously elected as the leader of opposition of the newly elected Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly.
All the 24 BJP MLAs proposed his name for the post in the BJP Legislature Party meeting held at Willy Park Shimla on Sunday.
Besides, BJP National general secretary Vinod Tawde who was the central observer, state president Suresh Kashyap, Himachal in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon and Mangal Pandey were also present in the meeting.
