British tech cosset out on Indian safari, Kolkata new port of call for RedoQ & Praeferre

Come January, 2025, and two UK-based companies seem well-set to mark their footprints in Kolkata with promises of fresh cash inflows and employment generations.

Both RedoQ, a 15-year-old prominent player in the digital realm, offering seamless solutions for design, development, and marketing needs and unveiling effective strategies and impactful solutions tailored just for its clients, and PRAEFERRE, offering a new range of unique approaches to data privacy management; from individual's personal information security to corporate-level data protection, will start their operations based out of Kolkata at the beginning of next year.

While RedoQ is looking at a headcount of 560-580 by June 2025, PRAEFERRE will start its operations with 40-45 techies.

At a time when the first-ever British trade delegation, focused mostly on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Semiconductor sectors, is visiting Kolkata, Dr. Andrew Fleming, the British Deputy High Commissioner to East and North-East India, said that the British tech companies have more reasons than one to have business associations and connections in Bengal and Eastern India.

Besides having a large talent pool, Kolkata offers the cheapest cost of living among all metros. The talent retention level is also much higher here, he said.
