After the video of the incident went viral late last night the Rajasthan government rushed its Additional Director-General of Police (Crime)
MN Dinesh to the incident site and the local police force took swift action, the Director General of Police Umesh Mishra told The Statesman this afternoon.
The husband, who is the main accused and his seven accomplices were arrested under various IPC Sections 323, 341, 342, 354, 294, 120, 504, 506, 498A, 509 and Section 4/6 Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986 and 67A IT Act.
A five member special investigation team (SIT) has been set up by the state police to further probe the case, the DGP said.
