Panihati residents plagued by waterlogging, malaria

Around six lakh people are affected during monsoons. People apprehend that as water takes longer time to recede this will result in spread of dengue.

Out of 35 wards under the Panihati Municipality, around 25 wards are badly hit. The worst-hit wards are 23, 24, 25, 9, 11, 27, 31, 13, 3 and 4.

Local people alleged that they have contacted the district magistrate, sub-divisional officer and senior officials of the municipality but nothing has been done so far.
