Trinamul Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee withdrew the sit-in and gave an ultimatum to the Centre to clear the dues of 21 lakh aggrieved job card holders by 31 October, failing which another protest would begin from 1 November indefinitely till the dues are cleared.

Mr Banerjee met Governor CV Ananda Bose and requested him to write to the Centre over the issue. “I requested the Governor to write to the Centre over the issue and let us know within 15 days. Mr Bose told us that he would take up the matter with Delhi within 24 hours,” he said.
