Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag hailed the merciless nature of his attackers as his side crushed Barnsley 7-0 in the League Cup third round on Sept 17.
'Ruthless' United please ten Hag with 7-0 romp

Troubled winger Antony scored his first goal this season and Marcus Rashford struck twice to extend his revival, after netting in the 3-0 English Premier League win over Southampton on Sept 14.

"First of all, it's most important that we defend well as a team and when we have that right aggressive attitude, then I know that those (forward) players will score goals," ten Hag said.

"We played with a lot of speed and we were very ruthless in front of the goal.

"When we get them in the right spaces, they are very difficult to defend (against). They are so quick, they are so energetic, they are electric, they can be direct.

When the team cohesion is good, they will score goals."
