Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday hit out at the Centre saying Telangana has emerged as the richest state in the country despite the former’s “discriminatory policies and bias in funding.”

Addressing a meeting in Warangal, the CM said the per capital income of Telangana is higher than that of Maharashtra though Mumbai is the financial capital of India. “It’s a proud achievement for Telangana, which is way ahead of other states in every sphere.

During the separate statehood movement, I kept telling the people that Telangana would be the richest state in the country once it is formed,” he said after inaugurating a private hospital.
