Hyderabad: A TRS local leader from Beerumguda was arrested by Ameenpur police for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a man. The latter had allegedly secretly recorded the leader's illicit relationship with his wife.
Sangareddy district police said that the prime accused-who is a religious figure and whose wife is also a TRS leader holding a key post - was arrested on the charge of kidnap.
"The complainant's wife did not lodge a case against the accused. So we did not register any sexual assault case. As of now, the prime accused was arrested only on the charge of kidnap and attacking the victim," deputy superintendent of police (Patancheru Division) Bheem Reddy told TOI.
A total of seven persons, including the prime accused, were arrested on Wednesday.
