Suryakumar Yadav defied the high-flying bowling battery of the Rajasthan Royals to help Mumbai Indians to a five-wicket victory at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday night.
Yadav played a crucial inning of 51 off 39 balls while his accomplice Tilak Verma churned out 35 off 30. Things looked tight after the duo were dismissed in the 16th over as Royals' bowlers dragged it to the last over where pacer Kuldeep Yadav had to defend four runs. Royals' hopes were raised after the youngster dismissed Kieron Pollard on the first delivery, but Daniel Sams sealed it with a six-over deep mid-wicket.
