Gear up for civic polls, CM tells Sena ministers

With elections to local bodies across the state scheduled after the monsoon, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday held a meeting with Shiv Sena ministers and told them to fast-track development works.

Thackeray told the ministers to speed up work, especially, in constituencies of Sena MLAs. Thackeray also asked them to prepare to fight and win the sixth Rajya Sabha seat, alerting them to be wary of BJP moves.

The meeting, which was focused on the upcoming local body elections, was held at Varsha, the CM's official residence.

This was the third key meeting Thackeray had with Sena office-bearers over the last few days. The party has eight cabinets and four Ministers of State in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
