He was misunderstood, says DCM as oppn corners Guv

Reacting to the strong criticism from opposition parties over Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari's statement on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday that he was misunderstood.

"The governor's statement has been understood in a wrong way and some other meaning has been derived from his statement. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was our idol and he will remain our idol. As long as there is sun and moon on this earth, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be our idol... There should be no doubt in anybody's mind, and the Governor too feels the same. His statement should not be interpreted differently," Fadnavis told reporters on the sidelines of the concluding ceremony of the 71st All India Police Wrestling Cluster Championship at the SRPF grounds at Ramwadi in Pune.
