‘If project went to Guj a yr ago, was minister lying?’

Attacking industries minister Uday Samant for saying he would try and secure the Tata Airbus project for Maharashtra, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray said on Friday, “Now he says the project went to Gujarat a year ago. Was he lying when he said he will speak to the Centre and get it for Maharashtra or did something happen behind the scenes? Will the chief minister ask for his resignation?”

Mumbai: He also pointed out that Union minister Nitin Gadkari had written a letter to the Tata Group in October asking for the Tata Airbus project to be located in Nagpur. “If the contract had already been signed for Gujarat a year ago, then could anyone have tried to demand it be shifted to another state? This just reveals how little Samant knows about what was going on in the administration,” he said.
