Malegaon blast explosive placed below bike seat: Expert in court

The 261st witness, a forensic expert, who deposed in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, told the special National Investigation Agency court that it was his observation that explosive material was put below the seat of LML bike allegedly recovered from the blast site. He also admitted that he had not conducted any scientific test to show where the explosive device was kept on the bike.

Replying to advocate JP Mishra for accused BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur, the witness said, "It was my observation that explosive material was put below the seat of LML bike. It is correct to say that I did not find any cavity below the seat of LML bike." The witness, however, denied he had not done a proper chemical analysis. "It is not correct to say that I carried out the analysis with prejudiced mind and at the instance of police,' the witness submitted.
