Former Union minister RCP Singh announced his "resignation from the primary membership of JD(U)" on Saturday, two days after the party sought an explanation on the plots of land registered in the names of his family members from 2013 to 2022. RCP sent his resignation letter on Saturday evening to JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha.
"All the plots of land mentioned in the party workers' allegations were purchased in the names of my two daughters, Lipi Singh and Lata Singh. Lipi is a Bihar cadre IPS officer while Lata is an advocate. Both have been filing their separate income tax returns for the last 10 years. The plots have been purchased through legal means," RCP, a former IAS officer, said.
