While refusing to allow new colleges that offer traditional courses to come up, the state government said existing courses need to be recalibrated such that 70% is theory and 30% is skill-based.

The points were made in a meeting chaired by deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis which focused on the implementation of the New Education Policy and the path ahead for the state. The meeting was of the Maharashtra State Higher Education and Development Commission.
