There is a myth that vaping is not harmful, but doctors warn the chemicals used for flavouring can lead to lung injuries, besides nicotine stunting brain development, reports Namita Devidayal.
“We are not yet seeing vape-associated lung injury in India, but it is better to be preemptive and dispel the myth it is safe,” said Dr Abha Mahashur, consultant pulmonologist at Lilavati Hospital. Doctors suggest it is important for schools to raise awareness.
