AAP's list of 134 rewards old party workers, some who crossed over

Aam Aadmi Party on Friday released the first list of 134 candidates for the December 4 municipal elections, putting its faith largely in old-time party workers. However, some of those who have crossed over from other parties in the past few months have also been accommodated.

Some of the prominent names on the list are Manoj Tyagi, former leader of the opposition in the east corporation, from Sadatpur ward in Karawal Nagar assembly constituency; Rekha Tyagi, former standing committee member in the east corporation, from Subhash Mohalla in Babarpur; former Congress councillor Mukesh Goel, who joined AAP some time back, from Adarsh Nagar; and former MLA Vijender Garg, who had won from Rajendra Nagar in 2013, from Naraina.

Senior party functionaries said old party volunteers working on the ground have got recognition for their hard work and 90 per cent of the tickets have been awarded to them.
