BJP bigwigs out with growth, welfare pledge

Over 20 senior BJP leaders, including Union ministers and chief ministers of different states, participated in several corner meetings, door-to-door campaigns and padyatra in support of the party candidates for the upcoming municipal polls in Delhi.

While Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri campaigned in west Delhi's Janakpuri South and Keshopur wards, his cabinet colleague Giriraj Singh covered Purvanchalidominated areas of Hastasal, Bapraula and Pandav Nagar while Sarbanand Sonowal addressed meetings in Green Park, Malviya Nagar, Andrews Ganj and Munirka.

Delhi BJP functionaries said national leaders participated in more than 75 such meetings while there were hundreds of small campaigns and meetings addressed by the candidates and local office bearers.
