Europe’s Silicon Valley offers great work-life balance

Sweden is called the Silicon Valley of Europe, because of the number of unicorns it has created, and birthing companies like Spotify and Skype. And it is attracting a lot of talented Indians. Each year a few thousand techies migrate to the Nordic country. We caught up with three of them.

Bhavya Chaudhry is a cybersecurity expert who ditched the US for Sweden to pursue her Master’s at Stockholm University. After the degree, she started working there. Initially, it was for financial reasons, the northern lights, and the beautiful winter. But she soon realised it holds lots of opportunities in cybersecurity.

HOW TO APPLY

She began by applying for jobs on LinkedIn in her last semester at the university. “It usually takes 2-3 months for applications to be processed, so one needs to be patient,” she says.
