Man who attacked policeman during NE Delhi riots nabbed

The accused has been identified as Shahid (23), a resident of Dayalpur. The looted pistol has been recovered from him.

New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested a man who had allegedly attacked and snatched the service pistol of a head constable during the northeast Delhi riots in 2020.

The victim cop, head constable Chhetrapal, who was assaulted by the accused and his associates, had sustained serious injuries and is still in persistent vegetative state. His colleague, Ratan Lal, had died in the melee.
