Developer Mundfish’s debut effort is like the hybrid enemies of its campaign: two disparate robotic halves mashed together. For every beautiful vista and striking display of science-fiction architecture, there’s a moment in which our protagonist frustratedly screams “Where’s the shitass way out of here?” It may be possible to overlook some of the rougher mechanics in the face of its visuals, but awful writing drags the entire experience down.
