GB triathlete Ben Goodfellow mastered tough conditions and unknown roads to take victory over a 26.2mile technical and picturesque course in North Yorkshire at the Circuit of Ingleborough.
The 26-year-old from Wrexham was expecting a tough battle with event regular and wily veteran Richard Bideau of promoting club Pendle Forest CC, as well as top junior Patrick Casey (Team Lifting Gear Products).
But in reality he eased to victory by almost four minutes over Bideau, while Casey was a non-finisher after hitting a pothole and suffering a mechanical.
Fastest female was 360cycling rider Laura Tring, whose time of 1-22-47 gave her a comfortable win by almost five minutes over North Lancashire RC veteran Sue Cheetham.
