Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal claimed one wicket in his side’s loss against Delhi Capitals in Match 56 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season on Tuesday. Chahal’s 1/48 from four overs saw him become the first Indian bowler to pick 350 wickets in T20 cricket. Chahal, who is the IPL’s leading wicket-taker, also boasts of the most T20I scalps for Team India. It was a massive feat for the right-arm wrist-spinner, now the 11th bowler in T20 history, to claim 350-plus scalps. Notably, he is also the 5th spinner to reach the milestone after Rashid Khan, Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir, and Shakib Al Hasan.
On Tuesday, DC scored a staggering 221/8 in 20 overs, riding on fifties from openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel. For RR, R Ashwin claimed 3/24, his side’s pick of the bowlers. In response, Sanju Samson fired for the Royals with a valiant 86, but it wasn’t enough, as his side suffered a 20-run defeat. RR managed 201/8 in their 20 overs.

YUZVENDRA CHAHAL (350 WICKETS)
As per ESPNcricinfo, Chahal now owns 350 wickets from 301 T20 matches at an average of 23.65. His economy rate is 7.70. Besides nine four-wicket hauls, the ace spinner owns two fifers. 201 of his wickets have come in the IPL from 156 matches at 22.24. He is the only bowler with 200-plus IPL scalps. Chahal became the second-highest wicket-taker for RR (62 scalps at 22.17). He is only behind Siddharth Trivedi (65).
