The race is on to secure the services of Primož Roglič after the 33-year-old confirmed last weekend that his lengthy spell at Jumbo-Visma is set to end amid reports the team is preparing to merge with Soudal-Quick Step.
Speaking to reporters in Italy before he won the Giro dell’Emilia for the third time, Roglič said that he would share full details on his new team after his final race of the season, Il Lombardia, this weekend.
In recent weeks it has been widely reported that Roglič was set to leave the Dutch squad, and a raft of rival teams are understood to be interested in securing his signature.
Roglič’s unhappiness at Jumbo reportedly ramped up after he was forced to put his own ambitions aside at the recent Vuelta a España in order to allow team-mate Sepp Kuss the opportunity to win a Grand Tour.
That was then followed by reports of a potential merger between Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-Quick Step, with Amazon also coming on board as a co-sponsor for the new project.
