Nottm Forest 1-0 Bradford
September 20, 2001
First Division
"I was 18 years old and had recently broken into the Forest team. I was the kid that everyone was speaking about and rumours had started that clubs wanted to buy me. Scouts were sent down to see me in action. You take it all in - you know this can happen to a professional player. Bradford had just been relegated from the Premier League, so they were the money club in the league: they had Benito Carbone and Stuart McCall. They were a top side and this was a big test against a good Championship outfit. My memories are scoring the only goal, playing well and coming off afterwards thinking, 'That was a big moment'. It was an evening game, the pressure was on, everyone was talking about me and I delivered. That was a step in the right direction."
