QUEEN ANNE STAKES - Tuesday EREVANN is being aimed at this race and looked ideal for it when a decent third on comeback at St Cloud on May 1. The Dubawi colt looked rusty and is better judged on his impressive Group 2 success at Longchamp in October. The mile is an ideal trip and he’s gone well on fast and soft ground. There should be more to come.
Inspiral is heading the betting and she took the Coronation Stakes at last year’s Royal meeting on her first outing of the season. She’s at her best in quick conditions and the Gosdens will have him spot on for this target. The yard also has Laurel who would be feared if taking up this entry.
Mutasaabeq looked up to this standard when winning a Group 2 over a mile at Newmarket in early May. He got his own way out in front but kept pulling out more when challenged. He could still be improving aged five.
Laurel has a few options but she was pipped in the Sun Chariot at Newmarket in October and looked as good as ever when winning a Kempton Listed contest on return. She is clearly capable of figuring at Group 1 level.
KING’S STAND STAKES - Tuesday
VADREAM needs cut in the ground but looks well capable of making his presence felt at this level if conditions are right.
He has already run two excellent races this season with a win in the Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster on his turf comeback and an even better success dropped to five furlongs for the first time in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket. He showed a sharp turn of foot there and can make his presence felt. There is also the option of the Jubilee Stakes at the meeting over six furlongs. He is an each-way price for either so wait and see if the heavens open.
