M ATT Clarke's second goal of the season, and his second at the Cardiff City Stadium this year, earned special praise from boss Michael Carrick after Middlesbrough's win in the Welsh capital.
Goals from Clarke and an own-goal from Aaron Ramsey ensured Boro completed a quickfire double over the Welsh teams this season following their 1-0 home win over Swansea City on the opening day of the season.
Defeat for Cardiff kept them rooted to the bottom of the table with just one point from four games.
"It was a really good win for us in what was a bit of a different game to the other games we've had this season.
There were fewer chances and shots," said Carrick.
"There were a lot of good things in the game. It was a bit windy, the pitch was dry and the ball was slow, so it wasn't easy to play quick football..
