THE DEPARTURE of star- striker Cyrus Bruce failed to stunt Rugby Borough in their pursuit of FA Vase progression, with manager Dave Stringer hailing the impact of Shaun Ruzvidzo and Antonio Cristofaro for their part in filling the goal-laden gap.

CYRUS' GOALS ARE NOT MISSED

Bruce, 18, has found pastures new at Step 3 Redditch United this week, leaving his now-former side without an established number nine, something which forced Borough into a different set-up in their comfortable dismantlement of Paget Rangers.

“We’re all about rotation on and off the ball and we like Shaun to pick up the ball in dangerous areas, in little pockets, it’s how we train and it’s the same for the likes of Antonio too,” said Stringer.

“We were without a number nine which is something we’ve got to rectify over the next few days. That’s why we set up the way we did today.
