Singh moves over from his role as director of football at The Citadel after Donaldson, the former Sheffield United and Bradford City striker, was surprisingly relieved of his duties despite a solid start to the new National League North season.
Donaldson took charge of Celtic as interim player/boss last season and led the club to Step 2 safety, overseeing a dramatic great escape.
The 40-year-old took the job permanently over the summer and steered the club to three wins from their opening six games, despite having to play all six away from home due to pitch relaying issues at The Citadel.
