
ISAAC Stones believes a pre-season trip of a lifetime to San Marino helped lay the foundations for Hadley FC's record season.
The Bricks are scaling all new heights with Anthony Clark's men sitting pretty in the Southern Division One Central play-off spots, on the back to the third round of the FA Trophy.
Their special year began way back in early June when the club headed to San Marino to play a friendly against local outfit Juvenes Dogana, who finished fifth in the top domestic division last season.
A handsome 7-1 victory and a few days spent together in the beautiful Italian city of Rimini brought the squad closer together and, according to top scorer Stones, formed the basis of the club's unlikely promotion push.
"San Marino was a great experience," the 22-year-old told The NLP.
