Bayliss appeared in all three Tests that he was available for and scored tries against Portugal and Australia, the latter a brilliant finish that secured Scotland a famous 27-13 win over the Wallabies and was voted as the best try of the Autumn Nations Series.
The 27-year-old, who can play six or eight, has amassed 10 caps and five tries and is probably now on an equal footing with Jamie Ritchie and Luke Crosbie when it comes to earning a spot on the blindside for the Six Nations.
Reflecting on the autumn, which brought Scotland three wins out of four, Bayliss said: “I absolutely loved my time up there and getting to string some games together was really important for me, to play those three games in a row, getting a bit of continuity and really just trying to put my best foot forward.
