This 40-inch TV offers seamless connectivity to OnePlus users

OnePlus expanded their line-up of Y-series TVs recently. The OnePlus TV 40 YIS is a Full HD entry-level model that joins the line-up that includes the Y1S Pro and YIS Edge.

The OnePlus TV Y1S devices are available in 32, 40, and 43 inches, and we received the 40-inch model. The TV offers a clean design with a three-side frameless display. The bottom frame has a glossy finish, and it incorporates a white status LED, below which hides a power button. The device looks well-built for an entry-level TV that is made in India, unlike some other TVs in the same category that proudly displays a Made in India tag. Our microscopic vision noticed a slight misalignment in the panel assembly, but nothing beyond acceptable levels. The television offers two HDMI and two USB Type-A ports in addition to a 3.5mm audio jack, ethernet port and coaxial connection for cable input. The slim remote controller has a familiar design with hotkeys for Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar.

The TV uses a Full HD display that supports HDR, HDR10+, and HLG format support. The device uses Android TV 11.0 platform. The TV provides 20W speaker output and supports Dolby Audio. The display proved good enough for the price, with the system offering good upscaling capabilities along with fairly good colour reproduction. The TV offers various picture modes including Vivid, Movie, and Al Picture. The device offers customisation of most parameters using sliders. However, there is no preview of the effect and hence the changes come into effect only after coming out of the menu.
