Archana moved to Bangalore from Mumbai in 2018 for work. She was new to the city, was getting to know the workplace, and was starting to make new friends. Colleagues were the first friends she made and Cheran was part of their common friend group. During one of their tea breaks in the office, they started to hang out together. The next year, they took the next step, starting dating and getting to know each other better.
In 2020, lockdown hit and things took a turn. Lucky for them that they stayed close to each other which allowed them to see each other. They spend some time together that year and realized that they were meant for one another.
"End of 2020 is when Cheran proposed, and asked my hand in marriage. Our families are the best, they were so quick with finalising the date. November 2021 is what they decided and we were just the happiest. That's how fast things worked." Says Archana.
Archana is from Madurai, she's been brought up around the country because of her father's transferable job. Just before she moved to Bangalore, she worked in Mumbai for 6 years. Still rooted and traditional, she wanted to celebrate their love in the purest form.
The engagement was planned to take place in April 2021, with family, relatives and friends. But to their luck, the second wave of COVID was taking over. Everything got cancelled and they couldn't get engaged. "what we ended up doing was, we conducted a small ceremony in my apartment's clubhouse. We were just 10 of us in total that day. Because of the situation, everyone was sceptical about the marriage ceremony date."
