Since her talk show first aired in 1986, Oprah Winfrey has become one of the most influential celebrities of all time. When she speaks, people listen, especially when it comes to staying stress-free.

"We need to schedule more rest and stop sprinting through our lives as though it's some race we have to win," Oprah has said. "We've already won! When it comes to health, we've got to think minutes. Every day, I try to remember that my choices can help or harm me."

Of course, Lady O has had her own struggles with that, beginning a "cycle of discontent" with her weight in 1977. "After years of yo-yo-ing, I realized that being grateful to my body, whatever shape it was in, was key.

MELTS A MENOPOT: Smart moderation

"Healthy for me is the new skinny," Oprah recently said. "I can eat almost anything I want; I just can't eat it at the same time. Which is the entire philosophy of life: You can have it all. You just can't have it all at the same time. Gone for me are the days of wanting to be thin to fit into anything other than my best body and life." To stay on the healthy track, she favors making small, imperceptible tweaks, like mixing mashed cauliflower in with mashed potatoes and using half veggie pasta and half regular pasta.
