Holly and her gran Cheryl have closed a lucrative TV deal

Former Miss Universe New Zealand Holly Cassidy and her grandmother Cheryl Whiting have always had a close bond. So, when real estate agent Holly was approached about being part of the new Bravo series Rich Listers, she knew she wouldn’t want to do it without Cheryl at her side.

While Cheryl, who works at Ray White Parnell as an executive marketing manager, was happy to oblige, she admits it took her weeks into filming to realise she wasn’t only there as support for Holly – but one of the stars of the TV show.

“I didn’t think about it much,” she laughs. “Then when we were down in Queenstown, one of the other guys asked me, ‘Are you in the line-up?’ I said, ‘No, I’m just an extra. I’m just supporting Holly.’ That’s when the director told me, ‘Cheryl, you’re in the cast.’

Adds Holly, “When they came and filmed the ‘meet the family’ dinner at the house, I thought, ‘She’s too good not to be on the show.’”

The local series follows New Zealand’s top real estate agents who sell some of the country’s most exclusive and expensive properties. And if there’s anyone who knows about landing a deal, it’s Cheryl.
