It was meant to uncover the truth of whether Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, bullied her staff. But a report commissioned by the Queen into allegations that Prince Harry's wife treated palace workers badly will never see the light of day, says a royal insider. They say the report has been buried because releasing it could only worsen tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals.
The Queen, 96, paid for an independent inquiry to be carried out by a private law firm after Meghan, 40, was accused of bullying her staff shortly before she and Harry, 37, left their royal roles and moved to the US.
Two senior staff said they had been bullied, while a third described being "humiliated" by the duchess. Another aide said Meghan used "emotional cruelty and manipulation, which could also be called bullying" in the workplace.
Meghan denied the claims and investigators began looking into them, but the insider reveals that only four or five people have been questioned. At the time, the couple had 25 people working for them, many of whom could have been potential witnesses.
None of those who made the allegations have heard what the outcome of the investigation is and Buckingham Palace has refused to divulge any of the findings. But it has changed some of its policies since the claims were first made, apparently "improving policies and procedures" in its human resources department.
