She’s the smiley face that greets us every weekday morning on her eponymous ITV show, and every time Woman catches up with Lorraine Kelly her enthusiasm for her work – and life in general – is infectious.
The star, 63, has been in the business for more than 30 years, but has managed to maintain a healthy personal life too – staying happily married to TV cameraman Steve Smith. Despite her success, the Glasgow-born presenter has remained down to earth and is happy to chat about everything from ageing gracefully to juggling her busy schedule. Woman sits down to hear what’s new in Lorraine’s world.
Hi Lorraine, how is your week going?
Not too bad, thank you. The weather is fab so now you can take the dogs out without having to spend time washing them when you get back. There’s just something about dogs! I love getting out with them, it completely de-stresses you.
You’ve got your daughter Rosie and her dog Ruby living with you at the moment…
Ruby’s like my grandchild. They are both staying with us while Rosie gets some work done in her flat, then she’s going to move out. It’s going to be so weird – it will be like double empty-nest syndrome, as Ruby will be going too, although I will, of course, be babysitting a lot!
You work on your podcast What If? with Rosie too – are you best friends?
