As Divorce Day approaches, seven in 10 women claim the menopause has caused their relationship to break down

Mood swings, irritability, loss of sex drive, anxiety - the menopause can trigger a tidal wave IVI of symptoms for women. But what if it begins to impact your relationship? It seems, for many, that it already is. In fact, a staggering seven in 10 women revealed that the menopause or perimenopause led to the breakdown of their marriage.

Most women surveyed were not offered support or treatment, and many believe that if they had been, they may have been able to save their marriage.

Next week, on 3 January 2023, family lawyers across the country will be bracing themselves for 'Divorce Day', when there is a spike in enquiries about separations. But for millions of women in menopause wondering if divorce is the only option, could there be a solution? Woman investigates.
