New BOMBSHELL!

As the Sussexes' PR machine continues to churn, the brickbats being thrown and the family divide get bigger and bigger, writes royal biographer Emily Andrews

New BOMBSHELL!

It has been humiliation after humiliation for Prince Harry.

First, his father couldn’t find time to see him after the Duke of Sussex reportedly rejected the King’s offer to stay at one of the royal palaces while he was visiting the UK last month.

Second, he wasn’t invited to Charles’ official birthday celebrations last weekend at Trooping the Colour.

And last, but by no means least, due to his feud with brother William, Harry was apparently ‘uninvited’ to the ‘wedding of the year’ by the Duke of Westminster, a close friend and Archie’s godfather.

It has been a crushing series of blows for the duke – underlining, if it was ever in doubt, how ostracised he is by both family and old friends.

At the start of this year he made it clear (by telling an American camera crew, of course) that he wanted to see more of his family and spend more time in the UK.

Yet when he did come back to these shores last month, it was he who released a statement saying he wouldn’t be seeing his father as the King’s ‘full programme’ meant he was too busy.

But, as ever with the Sussexes, the truth was slightly more complicated.

In fact, I am told Charles had invited Harry to stay at a royal residence for the three days he was in London to promote the Invictus Games.
