When my husband Justin and I exchanged our vows on our wedding day, I never once thought it wouldn't be forever. I imagined us spending the rest of our lives together and having children, and living a very traditional family life. And for 10 years, that was exactly how it was. But then I met Sue*...
In January 2017, I was dashing into a local chemist intending to quickly buy a bottle of shampoo before heading off home to make tea for my family.
The assistant in the shop came to help me and we began to talk. After 20 minutes, we were still talking- and when I left, she gave me her number.
Instinctively, I'd known that Sue was attracted to me.
And while I was happily married, I had taken her number. Was I attracted to her? I'd had brief relationships with women in the past, but I was married to a gorgeous man. What more could I want? Yet I found myself texting Sue before I'd even got back into my car.
For the 10 years prior to that moment, I'd never wanted anything more than what I had with Justin. We had met in April 2006. He was a firefighter and often went to my sister's restaurant. I was a single mother to two boys, Anthony, then seven, and Aaron, three. In a whirlwind, we married in September 2006 and I gave birth to our son Connor in May 2007.
I loved my husband and my family life, but I couldn't deny that I was attracted to Sue. Within two weeks, I invited her to our home, telling Justin that I had a new friend. He was looking forward to meeting her. They chatted a little together over the meal I prepared.
But when she left afterwards, my astute husband, who knew about my previous relationships with women, had picked up on a spark, saying he felt I had feelings for Sue.
