It’s been three months since Holly Willoughby stepped down from This Morning, after 14 years at the helm. She’d been holding the fort since Phillip Schofield’s dramatic departure last May, following the scandal surrounding his ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague. But since Holly suddenly quit after a kidnap and murder plot was revealed, producers have been struggling to find a permanent replacement as they relaunch the show for 2024. The programme, until the recently reported appointments of Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, has seen a rotation of presenters – including Friday host Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, and Craig Doyle – step in over the past few months. But with fans tiring of Alison and instead appearing to favour Emma Willis and Rylan Clark, have ITV bosses found their new Friday This Morning duo, leaving Alison out in the cold?
Call for Emma and Rylan
TO While Alison has historically been a fan favourite, it seems Emma and Rylan are the new front-runners when it comes to potential permanent Friday hosts. After the duo, who have been friends since they both worked on Big Brother, started fronting the show before Christmas, viewers were quick to beg producers to make them a permanent fixture instead of Alison.
