Claudia’s baby confession
Presenter, style icon, owner of an impeccable fringe – there are many titles Claudia Winkleman holds but there is one very important one missing from that list: grandmother. In a new interview for the return of her show, The Piano, the Strictly host admitted she was broody. When reminded of a time that she got excited after seeing a baby, Claudia recalled, ‘My ovaries just clacked!’ To which singer Mika, who judges on the C4 reality show, said, ‘Did she really say that? She does get very excited around babies,’ later revealing that he calls her ‘the babysitter’.
And while another baby doesn’t seem to be on the cards for the mum-of-three, she has previously admitted, ‘I’d like another baby but my husband has banned me from having more. It is probably a good thing as otherwise I would have nine more.’ But Claudia, 52, has other ideas. When quizzed if she’s keen for Jake, 21, Matilda, 17, and Arthur, 12, to become young parents, The Traitors star replied, ‘Yes I am,’ before adding, ‘If they were here now they would be, like, “Please just tell her to relax!”’
Previously Claudia, who has been married to husband Kris Thykier for 24 years, shared that she initially turned down The Traitors gig in a bid to spend more time with her children. And it seems, for now at least, it’ll just be the five of them. Surely teenagers answering back is better than returning to sleepless nights, after all?
