'My work-life balance isn't RIGHT!'

Alan Carr is currently working every hour God sends. The chatty man is in demand, cracking jokes almost every night until December on a gruelling global comedy tour. In August, he’ll squeeze in filming new BBC1 home renovation series with Amanda Holden, The Italian Job, as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season four. And he has also come back in his shiny blazer reviving classic quizzes with his nine-part series of Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow on ITV.

Alan, 46, admits it’s all too much. ‘I’m super busy at the minute. What’s happened is that the tour was meant to be done and dusted last year,’ he explains. ‘I don’t feel I’m getting time to sit back. I need to rest on my laurels, but it’s just going so quickly at the minute. It’s like [I’m in] Fast & Furious!

‘I think, next year, I’ll take some time out to take stock and say, “You’ve done well,” but at the minute I’m just chasing my tail trying to get it all done. It’s famine or feast in this business, because there will be a time when I’m in the jungle eating crocodile bits, thinking, “Do you remember 2022 when you were popular?”’
