The first issue, talking about aerospace and more!

As you might’ve seen on the cover
page, we have revamped what The
Daily Liftoff Stands for. As the Chief
Editor, rolling out boring issues that
looked the same each time wasn’t
something that I wanted to spend my
time on. And hence, as a collective
board effort, The Daily Liftoff has taken
this issue as a moment to reflect.
What does aerospace and aviation
have for us? What is life’s truest values,
and what are we doing here on Earth?
We wanted to ask the big questions.
We wanted to find not just write articles
on topics you can find on Google,
but rather ideas and moments of
thought that make a piece something
memorable to read.
You know, although this editorial is
conversational, I wanted to understand
why someone would pick up a copy of
The Daily Liftoff. The Daily Liftoff, from
now on, wont just publish articles, but
rather ideas. Ideas of what the aerospace
industry can do, or a commentary
on NASA’s new mission to Europa.
The Daily Liftoff is going to be a perfect
encapsulation of articles that talk
about pertinent issues on our planet
and how to solve them.
I hope this issue is a refresher for all,
although the design was cumbersome
to make, I truly hope that this is an issue
you can remember. Thank you and
feel free to share this with your friends
and family!

The Daily Liftoff has already published 5 issues. This fact has astounded me for the past month as I curate this issue. Its been a great journey to collaborate with the entire editorial board to create our longest issue yet! 

The issue first begins with outlining the basics of Graph Theory and its application in Network Analysis. Next, an article by Aaditya deals with the future of aviation in the form of autonomous technology and pilot less flights. Next, Apremeya takes us through a journey where we unravel the mysteries of the Indian Chandrayaan missions and why they are so relevant in our world today. Next, an article by me sheds light on why India is sometimes not able to perform upto the mark at the international level in mathematics particularly. After which, a guest appearence by Mr. Chandan Singh, who is an esteemed TOI author and the head of department mathemtics at the Doon School. Anshuman and wraps up the regular articles with a mathematics related one on differential geometry. This is then followed by our special section on NSD 2024 and Lunar Exploration as a whole. 

I hope this issue is a treat to read, because it was surely a treat to create, design, edit and publish!

The fourth issue of The Daily
Liftoff Magazine is simply
when we have a deficit of
important world news, and
hence the number of things
we can report on decreases
as well. Nevertheless, we have
some publication articles from
Taarak Harjai, Arish Talwar and
Anshuman Gupta. In this issue,
we deviate from the traditional
form of the magazine and rather
evolve it into something that
caters to everyone, as there
are contemporary articles along
with articles that just talk about
the earth sciences in general.
The issue begins with an article
by Svanik Garg, a freshman
at the University of California,
Berkeley, who talks about how
Carl Pei, the founder of ONEPLUS,
wanted to revolutionize
an extremely saturated market—
the smartphone one. And
how that plan was ultimately
successful, as nothing truly has
a unique identity for which people
know it.
The next couple of articles about
aeronautics are critical to read
as they cover the latest in recent
news surrounding the field. The
last two articles help unravel
some of the mysteries behind
common every-day principles,
whether they be in mathematics
or simply how origami is also
related to mathematics.

The third issue of The Daily Liftoff
was truly a groundbreaking one.
I received over 20 articles for
only 10 spots, and hence every
article that has been published
here is of top quality and has
been edited thoroughly by our
newest editor, Aprameya. Kudos
for your dedication and hard
work at The Daily Liftoff, and I
really hope that your efforts will
be noticed.

The issue follows a rather
orthodox format, with most
articles revolving around the
earth sciences. The first article
is written by our newest editorial
executive, Taarak Harjai, as
he introduces the domain of
aeronautics and how one can
be encapsulated in its wonders.
This article is followed by an
article by Tanay Chowdhry,
where he discusses how cosmic
rays silently shake our world. This
article is followed by an article
by me and Shreeansh Bansal
where we talk about certain
aspects of mathematics. After
this, Jansher Grewal explores a
new aspect of physics in sports.
Aaditya Agarwal then pens an
article about the Chernobyl
disaster; this is followed by
a special section penned by
Aadidev Basu. The last article in
the third issue is a contemporary
article by Aarav Anand, where
he talks about neural networks.

The issue starts off by examining DCGA’s new rules, something that has changed the Indian aviation paradigm forever. The issue then moves onto examining MIG’s new fighter aircraft, the MIG 41. After which, a slight deviation from the traditional atmosphere of TDL and an article about theology from Agastya Chamaria. The article is then followed up by a delve into the realm of artificial intelligence, and this topic is explored in an article by Aarav Anand. The issue ends with announcing the NASA Psyche missions, NASA’s newest endeavor, even after its cost-cutting shenanigans.
